Since Aylesbury Farms White Suffolk breeding programme started in 1985, the trait of having bare bellies and even bare necks in our White Suffolks was quite common. Five years ago the stud decided to select and try and improve on this trait, purely through selection, not introducing any other breed. The progress of this has been pleasing. The Stud now has a sire that we are using extensively that is 100% bare in this programme, as pictured above. Very importantly there is no kemping through the wool. (All wool from this ram is gone mid summer).
We have a limited selection of his progeny available at our annual sale in 2015. There is approximately 10 on offer that would be minimum 50% bare, possibly up to 80%. Please phone Andrew on 0409 169 693 if you are interested.
We stress that this is 100% White Suffolk Breeding. No other breed has been introduced to achieve this.
